We live in troubled times. Wars, pandemics, hatred, divisions among people…the list goes on. Poetry can ease our troubled souls. Something which technology cannot.
In addition to all the stress and pressure of our world, we have technology to deal with. As business turns more and more to technology, it adds to our frustration and anger. For us ordinary people, customer service can be a nightmare. The first voice we hear, when we call with a problem is a Robot (Artificial Intelligence), programmed to answer basic, simple questions. Our questions may not be simple and so the blood pressure rises, we feel shut out, alienated and not wanted as a customer by the Company we are calling. I I believe that in time Companies will realise this and as we start to walk away from their businesses, services and merchandise, they might wake up. AI is not human.
I have developed a film about this. Along with a young actor, colleague Jason Farries, we hope to have it in production this year.
Our AI film is called ANDY….more about that soon.

ANDY a film coming soon
In the meantime I have turned to writing another film, writing short stories and reading more poetry, which speaks to our deepest human emotions…something I doubt AI will ever be able to imitate (the fight is on!). Here’s is one for you by Tennessee Williams.
Dear Jane, I have been a fan since Lorna Doone & LOVED The Lion in Winter. Currently watching a rerun of an old Saint episode in which you co-starred. I have another memory of you which I hold dear. In the 60s I used to go horse riding on a Sunday morning initially to Stanley Park riding school & then Selsdon Park. I believe it was at the former when I arrived one day & you were there in the school. It just made my day, week, month, year!
I totally agree with your comments about the changes in filming. The days without CGI but with real stunts & action was so much more exciting & “real”. I appreciate the skill & technology of CGI but I’m afraid it leaves me cold.
Likewise your comment about how you gained your first role. The skill of voice production has been lost & if technology fails & the mikes don’t work all is lost.
So pleased you are still active & well. Thanks for the memories.
Sorry it’s taken a while to respond. Oh yes…happy days riding at Selsdon Park, with my much missed dog, Jasper. Hapoy days. Thank you for your comments and the memory!
